The glacier lagoon
Jökulsárlón, the place where the ice titan Vatnajökull is bleeding to its slow death, surrendering, piece by piece, to the vast ocean. There you can witness the icebergs, caught in the bizzare valse of the misty lagoon, before continuing their silent march to face the battering waves of the sea.
Mount Whitney
Mount Whitney is the highest summit in the contiguous United States and the Sierra Nevada, with an elevation of 4421 m. If only I had my trekking equipment and a few days to wander around... :)
Dettifoss
Dettifoss is a monster that is Europe's largest and most powerful waterfall. It definitely blew me away with its sheer size and power. Such raw power and fury almost made it feel like the ground was trembling beneath my feet.
Autumn dreams
"Like gold leaves fall in the wind
When farewell time, autumn has come
All these years they have passed
Like the wave on the shore of the sea"
When farewell time, autumn has come
All these years they have passed
Like the wave on the shore of the sea"
Gathering of the trolls
Just offshore from the black sand beach in Vík, the basalt rock formations, Reynisdrangar, stick up out of the Atlantic like fingers. As the folklore goes, these spindly rock formations are actually trolls frozen in time. Trolls are mythical night dwellers, trying to drag sailing ships ashore when they were caught in the sunlight and turned to stone.
