Mount Whitney

Mount Whitney is the highest summit in the contiguous United States and the Sierra Nevada, with an elevation of 4421 m. If only I had my trekking equipment and a few days to wander around... :)
Instead, I just said "good morning" to this giant from nearby Lone Pine town, then had a really nice morning walk with my cousin up to Lone Pine lake, at about 3000m elevation.

Dettifoss

Dettifoss is a monster that is Europe's largest and most powerful waterfall. It definitely blew me away with its sheer size and power. Such raw power and fury almost made it feel like the ground was trembling beneath my feet.

Gathering of the trolls

Just offshore from the black sand beach in Vík, the basalt rock formations, Reynisdrangar, stick up out of the Atlantic like fingers. As the folklore goes, these spindly rock formations are actually trolls frozen in time. Trolls are mythical night dwellers, trying to drag sailing ships ashore when they were caught in the sunlight and turned to stone.

Mythical sights

Mount Olympus, home of the ancient greek gods. Mytikas peak was their meeting place and theater of their stormy discussions. The Throne of Zeus (today Stefani) hosted solely him, the leader of the gods. From there he unleashed his thunderbolts, expressing his godly wrath.
